"Ed Tischler provides clear insights into how real breakthroughs are achieved, which is not by simply
increasing time and effort, but by looking at, and altering the fundamental way we approach the
game. His approach is an invitation to explore both golf and ourselves from a new point of view."

Innovative Coaching For Golfers
NHGA's Founder:
Nationally, as well as Internationally known, Ed Tischler is a professional golf coach, playing professional, and author. He's set over fifteen course records in his career, made seven hole-in-ones, and a double eagle. In 2000 he was voted by Golf Digest as one of Hawaii's top teachers. He's also thought of by many as the "Pro's-Pro," because he coaches many professionals locally and abroad.
In his search for knowledge and understanding, Ed has sought out numerous instructors. His primary coach is Fred Shoemaker, who owns and operates The School for Extraordinary Golf and authored Extraordinary Golf - The Art of the Possible. Fred's mentors include Michael Murphy, author of Golf in the Kingdom, and Timothy Gallwey, author of the Inner Game of Golf. Thus, Ed's coaching lineage are rooted deeply in the inner game process. Ed's helped many professionals attain their tour cards on the Asian Tour, Canadien Tour, Nationwide Tour, Japan Golf Tours, Futures Tour, and the PGA Tour. These players have proven themselves by winning on each tour as they've progressed in their careers. Most notably, Ed coached Dean Wilson, who had the pleasure of playing with Annika Sorenstam at the Bank of America Colonial Tournament on the PGA Tour. Ed has had the pleasure of coaching and playing all over Asia and the Pacific Rim. Japan, Thailand, Hong Kong, Makau, China, Hawaii, Alaska, California, Arizona, and Nevada are among a few of the places Ed has traveled to coach and play.
Ed grew up in California's San Francisco Bay Area. Ed attended U.C. San Diego where he pursued degrees in Philosophy & Economics as well as an area of concentration in Pyschology. He was the golf team captain and athletic council representative. He finished his college career as the #1 player on the team. In 1989 he turned professional, and has been coaching ever since. In 1991 he began playing on the Golden State Tour. During this period he honed his game to a +4.5 handicap. Then in 1992 he was injured and did not play for four years. In 1994 he moved to Hawaii were he finished organizing his studies into the New Horizons Golf Approach. In 2003 Ed moved back to the San Francisco Bay Area. He continues to play golf honoring the quest to play professionally on the PGA Tour. He also continues to seek out more productive ways of coaching. Indeed, Ed's true love is the game of golf. He's always got an ear and a perspective for inquiring golfers.
